If anyone is in any doubt about the appalling consequences that can happen when people surrender control of their government, then a quick trip to Dublin should open their eyes to the disaster that is Ireland.
Its worth a brief recap of Irish history to set up this essay and please note I am not advocating a return to the armed struggle.
I was fortunate to have had a real education before the dumbing down of the system by 'progressive' politicians who believe that all pupils should be equally stupid in the interests of equality and fairness. (Except their own spawn of course)
We were taught Irish history in some detail including the Parliamentary battles over the Home Rule Bills, the formation of the Irish Republican Brotherhood (the IRB) and the Irish Republican Army (the IRA) who gave up the democratic route, deciding that armed struggle was the only option left for a free and independent Ireland for the Irish people.
We were enlightened about the Irish patriots who were prepared to sacrifice their lives for an independent Ireland. Men like Michael Collins, who incidentally, was killed by his own side for agreeing to an Irish Free State instead of full independence. We were taught how the leaders of the Easter Rising were executed by firing squad including James Connolly who was so badly injured during the uprising that he had to strapped in a chair in order to facilitate his execution.
The Irish struggle for Home Rule finally achieved success with setting up of the Irish Republic complete with its own Parliament (the Dail). The violence of the armed struggle did not end however, due to the fact that the six counties of the north remained under British rule.
Those born in the 50's and 60's will recall with horror the IRA bombing campaigns in Northern Ireland and mainland Britain. New Irish hero's emerged who were prepared to kill and maim innocent people and put their own lives on the line to achieve Home Rule for the complete island of Ireland. Bobby Sands MP who starved himself to death together with countless other patriots made the ultimate sacrifice for their 'cause'.
The apologists for the IRA at the time were none other than Gerry Adams and Martin McGuiness who were frequent guests of the BBC and who's job it appeared to was to justify the carnage in pursuit of Irish Home Rule.
A visit to Dublin today reveals what remains of Irish independence and the Home Rule that was bought at such a high price i.e nothing much. Dublin is a sad and sorry place, a shadow of its former self. Apart from the austerity and EU imposed poverty, whole areas of the city have been colonised by third world immigrants to extents that the city is unrecognisable as the capital city of the Irish Republic. Derelict housing estates litter the city landscape and poverty is apparent around every corner. There was even a demonstration by what appeared to Somali's demanding more welfare entitlements and better housing.
The governance of this independent country has been handed over lock, stock and armalite to the post democratic bureaucrats of the European Union. The Irish have no control whatsoever over their borders or more importantly their economy. EU enforced austerity has impoverished the Irish people for generations to come and there doesn't appear to be anything they can do about it even if they wanted to.
The Irish people gave the dispossessed people of the European Union hope when they rejected the Lisbon Constitution in a referendum that the rest of the populations were denied. This was not acceptable to the authoritarians and tyrants that rule the EU, who responded by ordering a re-run of the vote. They then proceeded to bully, bribe and lie their way to an acceptable result with the inevitable consequences. Democracy is suspended and the Irish people are ruled directly by the authoritarians from Brussels
Apart from the scandal of Guinness costing more per pint in the city where it is brewed than on mainland Britain, the attitude of the Irish people I met causes the most surprise. Their spirits appear to be crushed and they came across as a whining, hand wringing bunch of bleeding heart 'progressives' bleating about unfairness and poverty in African while their own country is mired in EU imposed austerity. I guess this is a result of the constant hand wringing by tax avoiding, mega rich superstars, Saints Bono and Geldof.
The political, economic and social conditions in Ireland today are worse than they ever were under British rule. Identical conditions now exist that resulted in the formation of the IRB and the IRA so where is Gerry Adams and his mate Martin McGuiness and where are the IRA members who fought for the Home Rule cause?
Ireland has been re-colonised and is once again ruled by a foreign power. The Irish people have been subjugated by an enemy that openly campaigns for the end of Ireland as an independent nation state. Surely that cannot be acceptable to Irish patriots of the like of Adams and McGuiness.
The truth is that the Irish political class, North and South including Adams, McGuiness, Biffo Cowan and the rest of the shysters have sold out their people to EU political establishment in exchange for thirty pieces of silver. Naturally they will not be suffering the poverty and indignity that they have visited upon the Irish people and will continue to enjoy their tax payer funded salaries, expenses accounts and gold plated pensions.
The sad part is that the armed struggle in pursuit of Home Rule was a waste of human life that can never, ever be justified. With hindsight the bloodshed, pain and misery was all for nothing except for the fact that its perpetrators, facilitators and supporters now divorce themselves from the cause they supported and live as parasites on the suffering of others.

The Luck Of The Irish. Politicians And Bankers That Is, Not The People.
The taxpayer funded Guinness will be going down with abandon in the bars of Dublin this week as Irish politicians congratulate themselves for resolving a debt crisis that their incompetence created in the first place.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Irish politicians are congratulating each other over a resolution to their $41 billion + debt overhang which dates back to 2010.
Other indebted EU countries should take notice because this is nothing other than a power grab by EUSSR totalitarians, aided and abetted by the political class.
As with everything involving devious politicians, the devil is in the detail and its the same old story.
With encouragement from the European Union power grabbers, successive Irish politicians, in line with socialist politicians the world over, spent more on bribing voters with entitlements than was earned in revenue, thus racking up unsustainable deficits and debts that eventually bankrupted the economy.
Simultaneously, these incompetents failed to regulate the banks effectively and stood by as their banker friends spent and lent their institutions into oblivion necessitating the government to step in and bail them out.
Its a little complicated for a Friday but its worth hanging in there to see how the political class have stitched up their own people for generations, destroyed democracy in the process and then carry on their life of Riley as if everything in the garden is rosy.
Irish politicians spent an all night session, bless them, liquidating the Irish Bank Resolution Corporation, a state owned entity that had taken on the assets of the failed Anglo-Irish bank and which was responsible for repaying their debts to the Irish Central Bank.
In a classic piece of deceit, under the terms of the liquidation, the government will exchange the promissory note it issued to Anglo-Irish for long term government bonds which will not have to be fully repaid until 2053.
Roughly translated that means that the Irish government has taken on the responsibility on behalf of the people for the repayment of the Anglo-Irish debt over the next 40 years.
The Irish taxpayer will be paying for the debts of a private sector bank for the next two decades!
At this point I am not aware that any banker or politician has been held accountable for this disaster.
If that's not bad enough, lurking in the background like a thief in the night was European Central Bank (ECB) President and effective Gauleiter, Mario Draghi.
It was Draghi who insisted that the Irish Finance Minister put the banks guarantee in place in the first instance, knowing full well it would commit the Irish taxpayer to paying off the bankers debts in the long run.
He also knew that this would result in the end of Irish independence and direct rule from Brussels.
So what of the architects of this disaster?
Primarily the blame lies with the entire Irish political class and the bankers but the puck must stop somewhere. (excuse the pun)
There is former Irish Prime Minister (Taoiseach) Brian 'Biffo' Cowan who is immune from the consequences of his incompetence and is retired. He is spending more time with his family enjoying his taxpayer funded, gold plated pension of $215,000 per year.
Bertie Ahern, Biffo's predecessor and Finance Minister is the real villain of this disaster. He is now feted around the world as an elder statesman and making a fortune out of directorships and speaking engagements. Ahern is a classic example of the political class looking after its own.
Ahern had to resign under the weight of corruption allegations but while in office he came under fire for his remuneration increase to $400,000+. Which, at the time, was higher than the President of the USA.
Ahern, like Biffo Cowan, enjoys his taxpayer funded pension but also racks up expenses for VIP travel, chauffeur driven limos and all the other indulgences that these crooks think they are entitled to even though they are no longer in office.
Bertie Ahern is best summed up by Ryanair CEO Michael O'Leary; "Bertie squandered the wealth of a generation and I think in time it will be proven he was a useless wastrel".
While the Irish people will be mired in poverty for generations to come their overpaid representatives will be living the life of Riley despite the fact that they have handed over effective power to the bureaucrats of the EUSSR.

Europe Goes Over The Fiscal Cliff, Guilty Men Go Free
Honest and responsible people when considering whether to make a purchase such as a house, a car or a new refrigerator are obliged to take time out in order to analyse their financial position.
This analysis revolves around the individuals' monthly income and expenditure eventually hinging on borrowing together with the affordability of loan repayments.
This also applies to businesses from the smallest convenience store to the biggest corporations. Every aspect of the balance sheet and the finances are investigated and all the possible assumptions and projections are factored into the calculation. Whatever the case, the laws of arithmetic will always apply and however much a particular product is desired, if it doesn't fit the financial analysis then the purchase is not made or a more affordable alternative is sought.
There are alternatives ways to acquire the products we may desire such as stealing them, stealing the money to buy them or by borrowing the money outside the rules of arithmetic regardless of the consequences. Such behaviour as we know, is irresponsible, dishonest and in many cases illegal.
In most cases there is no physical harm done and the amounts of money are relatively small but there are victims and they deserve to see the perpetrators brought to justice.
People and business owners engaging in such behaviour are punished either by fines and penalties or sanctions such as being disbarred from running a business and in some cases transgressors have been sentenced to prison.
Politicians engaging in such behaviour, and worse, are rarely punished, in fact the opposite is often true, they are rewarded with a non job which usually attracts a taxpayer funded salary with accompanying allowances and expenses or they are allowed to retire with their gold plated, index linked, taxpayer funded pensions the size of which is beyond the comprehension of the average elector they represent.
Despite being surrounded by the devastation they have caused politicians often carry on in their current position as if nothing as happened.
In the previous article it was revealed how 'progressive' career politician George Papandreou, the man who ignored the arithmetic in order to impose his perverted socialist ideology on the Greek people, destroyed the economy and impoverished the whole nation is now feted around the world as a wise elder statesman.
Perversely, George Papandreou has been appointed as a lecturer at the prestigious Harvard University in the USA lecturing students on debt and governance!
Greece and Papandreou was not an isolated case so the following is an update on the other incompetent politicians who's economic crimes are as bad if not worse than Papandreou and who also got away with their wanton destruction unpunished.
Great Britains' Gordon Brown and his thuggish enforcer Ed Balls were responsible for the unfunded expansion of the state, increasing borrowing beyond what the nation could afford and increasing the national debt to such an extent that future generations will be stuck with consequences long after Brown and Balls have met their maker.
When Gordon Brown was Chancellor of the Exchequer and sidekick Balls was Treasury Secretary they continually preached prudence while they were emptying the coffers. They repeated the claim that they had abolished boom and bust right up until the day that the economy went..... er.. bust.
They expanded welfare entitlements and made them available to ever more people while taxing the British people to saturation point. Their incompetence is as bad if not worse than the hapless Papandreou. To cap it all, like George the Greek, they are both hard left uncompromising socialists.
Gordon Brown was kicked out of office but remains a Member of Parliament and continues to claim his MP's salary, allowances and expenses even though he doesn't attend the House. It has been a year since he last spoke in the House and his absence has effectively disenfranchised his constituents who are currently without democratic representation.
Gordon Brown travels the world making huge amounts of money by using the contacts he acquired while in Office. His earnings are channelled into his private company where they remain opaque to scrutiny from the people and the tax inspectors.
Gordon Brown the uncompromising socialist and scourge of the wealthy is on course to becoming one of the millionaires he claims to despise.
Ed Balls remains an MP and is the Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer. He is married to Shadow Home Secretary Evette Cooper, so with their combined taxpayer funded ministerial salaries, allowances and expenses they are seriously rich.
They are rich enough not to suffer from the consequences of their socialist policies that have impoverished the people they claim to represent.
Staying true to his socialist ideology Ed Balls opposes any policy which seeks to put right the damage he has done and he openly campaigns for more tax, borrow, spend and debt. If a general election were to be held tomorrow the polls indicate that in an act of suicidal stupidity the British people would elect the Labour Party into office and Ed Balls would take back control of the economy.

Italy's reputation as an international laughing stock was confirmed with the election of multi billionaire entrepreneur and playboy Silvio Berlisconi as their Prime Minister.
His time in office has been mired in scandal and the list of alleged crimes and misdemeanors include:
Abuse of office, Mafia collusion, false accounting, tax fraud, bribery, procuring under age girls for sex etc.
Observers of the political scene consider this to be standard behaviour for all modern politicians and in Italy it is positively an electoral advantage.
While Berlisconi was busy enjoying his wealth and celebrity his government was borrowing and spending Italy into bankruptcy racking up debts of 121% of GDP. The irony is that if Berlisconi ran his business enterprises like he ran the Italian economy he would be destitute.
Berlisconi was removed from office in a European Union coup and replaced by a Gauleiter. He is currently enjoying his billions but has indicated he is planning to stand for office in the next election.

The Spanish economic performance was proceeding normally but started to head south in 2004 with the election of Jose Zapatero of the Spanish Socialist Workers Party. While his government was busy ignoring the economic arithmetic and spending Spain to the edge of bankruptcy, Zapatero was busy with the global socialist priorities of removing Spanish troops from Iraq, continuing the war on tobacco and legislating for homosexual marriage.
Zapatero did not stand for re-election in 2011 but remains on the political scene as a member of the Spanish Council of State which is a consultative body for the government.

Any analysis of the mismanagement of European national economies can not be completed without scrutiny of the European Union and its leaders.
Briefly, the EU was the idea of post war 'progressive' politicians who dreamt of a socialist federal superstate that would compete with, and ultimately destroy, the hated United States of America together with its free enterprise system based on individual liberty and prosperity.
The EU is based on the old soviet model where power is centralised and used to control all aspects of life, public, private and economic. The EU bureaucracy churns out thousands of regulations every day to achieve this end.
The EU autocrats also believe that the transferring of sovereignty by stealth year on year will facilitate the eventual destruction of the nation states and lead to their goal of 'ever closer union' toward the superstate of their dreams.
The current leaders of this autocracy are the President of the European Parliament the life long German socialist thug Martin Shultz, the President of the European Commission, Portuguese autocrat and self confessed Maoist Jose Manuel Barosso and the President of the European Council the sinister Belgian totalitarian Herman von Rumpoy.
These three autocrats enjoy powerful positions that gives them control over the lives of half a billion people and yet none of them are elected and they cannot be removed electorally by the people they govern.
On the economic front the European Union is such a cesspit of corruption that its own accounts have not been signed off by the auditors for nineteen straight years.
In spite of this corruption and the fact that the European countries are suffering from economic collapse, insolvency, poverty and budget deficits, these three autocrats insist on growing the budget by substantially increasing the contributions paid by the member states.
The logic of these three lunatics is beyond comprehension.
They are insisting that the bankrupt countries who borrowed and spent themselves into oblivion and who are forced as a result to impose severe austerity programmes at home are being ordered to borrow more money and hand it over to the institutionally corrupt European Union which has not had its accounts signed off for nineteen years!
This insanity will drive these indebted countries further into poverty and for a longer period. It appears that the suffering of people of Europe will not come between these autocrats and their nation building agenda.
To the suffering people of Europe all of these politicians are no better than criminals who have escaped not only justice, but the consequences of their financially incontinent behaviour.
We can only live in hope that one day justice will prevail and they will be held responsible for the devastation they have caused.

Observers of the political scene consider this to be standard behaviour for all modern politicians and in Italy it is positively an electoral advantage.
While Berlisconi was busy enjoying his wealth and celebrity his government was borrowing and spending Italy into bankruptcy racking up debts of 121% of GDP. The irony is that if Berlisconi ran his business enterprises like he ran the Italian economy he would be destitute.
Berlisconi was removed from office in a European Union coup and replaced by a Gauleiter. He is currently enjoying his billions but has indicated he is planning to stand for office in the next election.

The Spanish economic performance was proceeding normally but started to head south in 2004 with the election of Jose Zapatero of the Spanish Socialist Workers Party. While his government was busy ignoring the economic arithmetic and spending Spain to the edge of bankruptcy, Zapatero was busy with the global socialist priorities of removing Spanish troops from Iraq, continuing the war on tobacco and legislating for homosexual marriage.
Zapatero did not stand for re-election in 2011 but remains on the political scene as a member of the Spanish Council of State which is a consultative body for the government.

Any analysis of the mismanagement of European national economies can not be completed without scrutiny of the European Union and its leaders.
Briefly, the EU was the idea of post war 'progressive' politicians who dreamt of a socialist federal superstate that would compete with, and ultimately destroy, the hated United States of America together with its free enterprise system based on individual liberty and prosperity.
The EU is based on the old soviet model where power is centralised and used to control all aspects of life, public, private and economic. The EU bureaucracy churns out thousands of regulations every day to achieve this end.
The EU autocrats also believe that the transferring of sovereignty by stealth year on year will facilitate the eventual destruction of the nation states and lead to their goal of 'ever closer union' toward the superstate of their dreams.
The current leaders of this autocracy are the President of the European Parliament the life long German socialist thug Martin Shultz, the President of the European Commission, Portuguese autocrat and self confessed Maoist Jose Manuel Barosso and the President of the European Council the sinister Belgian totalitarian Herman von Rumpoy.
These three autocrats enjoy powerful positions that gives them control over the lives of half a billion people and yet none of them are elected and they cannot be removed electorally by the people they govern.
On the economic front the European Union is such a cesspit of corruption that its own accounts have not been signed off by the auditors for nineteen straight years.
In spite of this corruption and the fact that the European countries are suffering from economic collapse, insolvency, poverty and budget deficits, these three autocrats insist on growing the budget by substantially increasing the contributions paid by the member states.
The logic of these three lunatics is beyond comprehension.
They are insisting that the bankrupt countries who borrowed and spent themselves into oblivion and who are forced as a result to impose severe austerity programmes at home are being ordered to borrow more money and hand it over to the institutionally corrupt European Union which has not had its accounts signed off for nineteen years!
This insanity will drive these indebted countries further into poverty and for a longer period. It appears that the suffering of people of Europe will not come between these autocrats and their nation building agenda.
To the suffering people of Europe all of these politicians are no better than criminals who have escaped not only justice, but the consequences of their financially incontinent behaviour.
We can only live in hope that one day justice will prevail and they will be held responsible for the devastation they have caused.
