Ukraine, Gaza, Syria - Blessed Are The Peacemakers But Where Are They?

To the casual observer of the news bulletins it would appear that the world is going to hell in something bigger and faster than a handcart. Even the major conflicts in Ukraine, Gaza and Syria are being supplemented by other not so public bloodfests in Iraq, Nigeria, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Afghanistan, Egypt, Iraq and so on and so forth. And, as always, it's civilians that pay the biggest price for the follies and intransigence of the perpetrators.

Despite the claim of being civilised, the modern age is no different to ages past and is just as jam packed with war mongers, imperialists, ambitious empire builders and covetous expansionists that caused mayhem and bloodshed throughout history.

One difference between today and those bygone ages is the prevalence of high profile people who masquerade around the world claiming to be peacemakers or lovers of peace. One would think that with the resources of the United Nations and its agencies, together with the combined efforts of all these peacemakers, there would not be any wars at all.

Looking at the facts it becomes immediately apparent that the United Nations is not only a hopeless hotbed of corruption, it is also of no use whatsoever in solving conflict or preventing war between nations.  It couldn't  prevent the soccer war fought between El Salvador and Honduras in 1969 over a World Cup qualifying match.

The Lords Resistance Army insurgency has been causing horrific bloodshed in Uganda since 1987 and they couldn't even influence their biggest benefactor, and the worlds largest superpower, not to invade the tiny island of Grenada in 1983.

One shouldn't be surprised that a bloated ever expanding bureaucracy, stuffed with career diplomats, superannuated politicians with designs on becoming a world government, could be anything other than a very expensive talking shop. As it currently stands the UN's only purpose, other than making innumerable resolutions against Israel, is promoting global socialism and insulting the United States.

Accepting that the UN will not stop the carnage, it is worth looking at the current conflicts together with those that strut the world stage as peacemakers, to make sure that they are working for peace and actually deserve the accolades they get.

The Russia-Ukraine conflict can be laid firmly at the door of the European Union and its expansionists ambitions combined with the pathetically weak leadership and lack of resolve of the USA, Great Britain and the western powers.

Even the casual observer would know that President Putin is a Russian patriot seeking to return Mother Russia to her former glory. They would also know that he is a ruthless former leader of the KGB who knows his way around the geopolitical chessboard. Ukraine was part of the former empire situated on its Black Sea border. Any attempt to bring Ukraine into the EU and NATO was too close for comfort for Putin and was resisted, just as the USA resisted the Russian military presence in Cuba.

When the European Union started its expansionist policy in Ukraine what did they expect Putin to do? They stirred up a hornets nest and a civil war was the result. One would think that the EU's pompously named High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, the Baroness Ashton of Upholland, also considered to be one of the highest paid politicians on the planet, would be smarter than she actually is. The truth is that despite her title and remuneration package she is considered to be a complete waste of money and space.

It is worth noting that despite its incompetence and expansionist warmongering the EU was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2012.

It would not be unreasonable to expect that those who have received the Nobel Peace Prize, and who accept the accolades and status that go with it, would lend themselves to be deployed into these volatile areas for the purposes of bringing peace.

As ISIS beheads and murders its way across Syria and Iraq and Hamas pours missiles indiscriminately into civilian areas of Israel, one is entitled to ask where is 2011 Nobel Peace Prize winner Tawakkol Karman? It looks like a perfect opportunity for a peacemaker to put her reputation to the test. She is of course a senior member of Yemen's Al-Islah political party, which is akin to the Muslim Brotherhood and which seeks to impose sharia law throughout the Muslim world and beyond. It is safe to say that peace is the last thing on her mind when it comes to Israel.

The 2009 Nobel Peace Prize winner is too busy involved fundamentally transforming his homeland from the beacon of freedom and liberty into a third world socialist state to be bothered searching for peace in the worlds hotspots. He is also busy downgrading and eviscerating America's mighty military machine to the point where respect for it is being lost by its enemies.

The 2008 winner, former Finnish Prime Minister, Martii Ahtisaari, is anonymous so any peace making initiatives are not apparent. However, if he is working behind the scenes along with joint 2011 winners Leymah Gbowee and Ellen Sirleaf, good for them and they will deserve the world's thanks should they succeed.

The 2007 Peace Prize winner was the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). One can only imagine what the result would be if the mission of this nonsensical Panel was changed from imposing global socialism under the cover of environmentalism to actual peace making. It beggars belief that this gaggle of agenda driven bureaucrats can be considered as peacemakers.

Joint winner in 2007 with the IPPC was former Vice President and first carbon billionaire Al Gore. Even my fertile imagination is lost for words when trying to consider big Al as a peacemaker.

I could go on but my lack of knowledge about the previous winners would not be constructive to the debate but I hope that if they are still with us they are working for peace and earning their reputations as peacemakers.

I cannot however bypass the 2002 winner Jimmy Carter and the 2001 joint winners, Kofi Annan and the United Nations.

Carter has a reputation for doing good works such as eradicating Guinea worm infestations in West Africa but insulting Israel by referring to it as an apartheid state and making no comment about Muslim atrocities by Palestinian terrorists doesn't exactly signal impartiality. This renders him utterly useless as a peacemaker.

As mentioned previously the UN is nothing more than an expensive, corrupt bureaucracy which is obsessed with Israel, the USA and a global socialist government. Kofi Annan was its leader during a particularly bloody period and proved to be as ineffective as the organisation he ran.

If anyone can bring peace one would think it would be the Middle East Peace Envoy for the Quartet, after all this man represents four of the biggest players on the war and peace scene including some of the participants in the current Ukrainian disaster, the EU and Russia. Also in the Quartet are the UN and the USA.

Again one is entitled to expect that the combined might of these four entities led by a peacemaker of the calibre of former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, would put an end to war wherever it flares up.

If anyone is curious as to why, considering his record as Prime Minister and after, Tony Blair was chosen to be a peace envoy then they would not be alone. They would be joined by the entire British nation who were fooled by the spin, deceit and lies of this awful man and who many believe to be an indictable war criminal.

While Blair has supposedly been working to bring peace to the middle east he has also been accumulating a personal fortune using contacts he made while in office and with some of the worlds most questionable characters. The peace envoys fortune is reputed to be anywhere between twenty and eighty million pounds. That's around thirty two or one hundred and twenty eight million US dollars. This includes a property portfolio of around eight properties including the former country estate of Sir John Gielgud and properties in London's exclusive Connaught Square.

Not bad for a former leader of the working mans party who once wrote to the then Labour Party leader, Michael Foot, that he "came to socialism via Marxism".

Blair would go down in history as just another socialist hypocrite if he was at least making some progress as a peace envoy but if the Palestinian leaders are anything to go by he is a disaster. In 2012, after almost a decade as peace envoy, they described him as:  "useless useless useless". This is probably the first time that the majority of the British people will agree with the Palestinian leadership.

In conclusion it must be noted that despite a plethora of internationally recognised peacemakers, wars continue and civilians are still being killed in their tens of thousands. Some peacemakers may be genuine and deserve the accolades and their reputations and some are just charlatans.

In one conflict there appears to be a light at the end of the tunnel and there is talk of Tony Blair being relieved of his post. If the speculation is true then that small spark of light will be extinguished by his reported replacement - none other than the superannuated High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, the Baroness Ashton of Upholland.

Putin v The West - The KGB v The PR Department. We Reap What We Sow

As events in the Ukraine and Crimea unfold it is becoming increasingly obvious that the western leaders are not just being out maneuvered by Russia's Vladimir Putin but they are being shown up for what they actually are, media created PR men with no experience in the real world in which we the people abide.

Just a tertiary glance at the backgrounds, experience and accomplishments of the current western leaders reveals weaknesses that any self respecting tyrant in search of his country's lost glory would be a fool to pass up.

It goes without saying that the fearsome reputation of the KGB is well deserved and therefore anyone who leads this organization is by nature ruthless and single minded - in addition, any KGB leader will be well versed in international affairs and a master of strategy.

Vladimir Putin meets these criteria in abundance and in addition he has acquired a degree of Public Relations and media management skills that matches those on which his western foes are totally reliant.

While a young Putin was honing his skills in the KGB, British Prime Minister, David Cameron, was behaving like the upper class twit that he is by attending raves and wrecking restaurants as a member of the exclusive Bullington Club. After his exclusive education he spent a couple of years as a PR man for a failed television company before taking his leave of the real world by entering the closed, incestuous world of party politics.

His supposed successor, George Osborne, who is the current Chancellor of the Exchequer, was also an upper class Bullington Club twit but apparently he did gain some real world experience prior to entering party politics by enjoying cocaine fuelled sessions with dominatrix Natalie Rowe.

Barack Obama, the current leader of the free world and Commander in Chief' of the mightiest military machine on the planet, spent his formative years smoking dope and spending his time with Marxist professors before taking up a career in community organizing. President Obama spent his formative years in Indonesia, Hawaii and the Peoples Republic of Chicago.

The last G8 was a classic example of  the mentality of Cameron and his PR men, the manufactured charade of a tieless, down to earth summit was so contrived and phony it was an embarrassment for the people of Great Britain.

One would think that the European Union which prides itself on having the political clout of nearly five hundred million people would have Putin quaking in his kerenky and scurrying back to Moscow.

Who wouldn't be worried with the EU's High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President if the European Union Commission beating a path to his door?

Vladimir Putin that's who. If the overtly pompous job title isn't enough to split ones side with laughter then the holder will most definitely cause a severe laceration.

The Right Honourable Baroness Ashton of Upholland is the official cover name for Cathy Ashton, a former hippy, serial supporter of left wing causes and the ultimate career bureaucrat. She has never held a proper job nor has she ever been elected to anything. She is one of the highest paid apparatchiks on earth and wields enormous political power, but sadly, in this new post democratic age, she has  been appointed and cannot be removed by the people no matter how destructive and incompetent she may be.

One has to remember that Ashton was a Vice Chairperson and treasurer of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament which agitated for unilateral nuclear disarmament at the height of the Cold War. It is now coming to light that she accepted funding for her traitorous organization from the Soviet Union and they adopted the campaign slogan, "Better Red Than Dead".

Faced with this cast of characters and their priorities, is it any wonder that Vladimir Putin, who is desperate to return Russia to its former glory and influence, is behaving the way he is?

While Putin is running rampant around the globe and running rings around the western leaders, what exactly are their priorities?

State mandated equality and fairness is high on the agenda of both countries together with a plethora of trendy, bleeding heart, hand wringing, guilt ridden 'progressive' nonsense, designed to make the political class feel good about themselves and help them display their compassionate credentials on the world stage.

Other priorities include:

Minimum wage, soon to become Living wage.

Ensnaring more people into welfare dependency and entitlement addiction.

Imposing multi-culturalism via mass immigration and amnesty.

Downgrading the military and erasing their traditions and history. In the case of the USA, this includes feminizing as much as possible to ensure gender neutrality and gay friendliness.

Putting homosexuals on a pedestal, firstly with equal rights then with special rights and now with extra rights. This must be the most pampered minority group on earth bearing in mind their small numbers.

Wrecking traditional marriage and family life

Eradicating the western Judeo-Christian values and its moral compass and giving medieval death cults such as Islam, moral equivalence.

Impoverishing their respective peoples with spending, taxing, borrowing and debt for generations to come.

The list goes on and the longer it does the more Putin, and all the other enemies of the west, are emboldened. Unless something drastic happens and the people wake up to the danger, the west is doomed.

We the people are to blame - we've known for many years that the political class are out of control and treating us with contempt.

In Great Britain we know that the leaders of the three main parties share an identical agenda on the main issues. They are as one. We know that David Cameron, Nick Clegg and David Miliband hail from a remote elite with no affiliation with the people they are supposed to represent.

The same goes for President Obama.  Everyone knows he is a media created impostor and even when his first term turned out to be a disaster they fell for his spin a second time. The danger now is that like Great Britain, being lied to will be become a normal part of political discourse allowing politicians to get away with destructive policies and outright corruption.

As well as we the people, President Putin knows they are all media creations who are trained in the arts of media management, spin, deceit and lying and unlike Putin, we fall for their propaganda every time. The people are easily seduced with promises the politicians know they will not keep and we will lose our liberties and freedoms to become no better off than the unfortunates of Putin's prison states.

European Union And The Syrian Tyranny - All's Quiet On The Western Front

The people of the various nations that make up the European Union are constantly bombarded with propaganda that extols the virtues of this soviet style political union especially using collective action for achieving results for the benefit of all.

In reality this dangerous abomination would be more accurately described as a union for politicians rather than a political union. It should be obvious to everyone that the EU has been a complete and utter disaster for the people of Europe not just the impoverished Mediterranean countries but the rich countries as well. Everything the EU bureaucrats do in search of their beloved post democratic United States of Europe results in disaster for all the people who are not part of the Brussels elite.

The accent is always on using collective power to achieve results but it appears this does not include the appalling tragedy being suffered by the people of Syria where the British were left to wage war on it's own.

It's worth reminding ourselves of some of the issues and characters that make the EU such a blight on the cause of individual freedom, prosperity and peace.

With the adoption of a Constitution under the guise of the Lisbon Treaty, the EU gave itself all the attributes of an independent state including a President who would have such a high profile that he would 'stop the traffic in Beijing'.

President Herman von Rompuy couldn't stop the traffic in Legoland but he attracts a salary greater than that of President Obama. On the Syrian tragedy, von Rompuy states that there is no alternative to a political solution and is therefore working with the Russians, who support the Assad government.

This stance is echoed by the other President, a Mr. Jose Manuel Barrosso. Yes, the EU has not one President but two; and Barrosso is also calling for a political solution, while throwing hundreds of millions of taxpayers money at Syria and it's neighbouring countries.

The long suffering EU taxpayers, who have been reduced to penury in their own countries by EU imposed austerity packages, have already forked out some 800 million Euros in aid to Syria and are about to take another 400 million hit due to President Barrosso's generosity with their money.

It is not known what the 93 million unemployed people in the EU think about Barrosso's largesse or the unemployed youths of Greece and Spain among whom unemployment now stands at a disgraceful 50%+.  It is not surprising that a self confessed Maoist like Barrosso feels nothing of other people's pain as he doles out their money in the oil rich Middle East who are more than capable of looking after their own.

While the Presidents of the EU warn against military action and seek a peaceful solution with one of the main supporters of the Assad regime, President Hollande of France is advocating arming the rebel forces.

It is now universally accepted, even by a large contingent of the French people, that President Hollande is a brick short of a full load who infamously called for a 75% tax rate during a recession triggering a brain drain and an associated flight of capital.

He wants to the arm the rebels who are fighting the Russian supported government. He also does not specify which of the rebel factions he wants to support or why. Is it the Saudi financed al Qeada rebels who stop and murder truck drivers because they are the 'wrong' Muslim sect, or is it the rebel group that kills government soldiers then cuts them open and eats their internal organs?

Unlike the rest of the world, President Hollande is obviously unaware that all of the warring factions are uncivilized savages who are yelling Allah u Akbar as they shoot each other down then enjoy the corpses for lunch.

Besides making the EU a legal entity, the biggest change that came about as a result of the Lisbon Treaty/Constitution was the creation of the High Representative Of The Union For Foreign Affairs And Security. The title by itself, let alone the salary and perks, indicates the exalted status of this super bureaucrat. This person alone should have been the one who deals with the whole issue of Syria, anti-government rebels, human rights abuses, regime change and, more importantly, Prime Minister Cameron's narcissistic warmongering.

Baroness Ashton is the archetypal EU bureaucrat in that she has never been elected to anything in her life and has no qualifications or experience to hold such a post and is reputedly bone idle. As a peacenik and former treasurer of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND), a traitorous organization which advocated unilateral nuclear disarmament at the height of the cold war, she also demonstrates her pro Soviet credentials.

With the European Defence Force, together with the whole EU diplomatic service at her disposal, the Syrian issue is what her exalted office was created for. This situation is what the bankrupt Greek, Irish and Spanish taxpayers are forking out their hard earned millions for.

There is no need for the Presidential twins von Rompuy and Borrosso to be bothering their heads about Syria, or for Prime Minister Cameron to be unilaterally bombing Syrians. In her position of High Representative blah blah blah......the Baroness Ashton's negotiating teams should be initiating talks with all the warring factions and their various supporters including Presidents Putin, Obama and Hollande.

The second highest paid female politician on the planet, after Christine Largarde of the IMF, the Baroness has been more than useless and her performance is coming under intense criticism from all quarters including brain dead French socialists.

The fact is that the global political class, who give themselves fancy titles such as President, Prime Minister and High Representative, are only career bureaucrats financed by corrupt bankers and corporations who only have their own interests in mind. There is not a single statesman among the whole sorry bunch.

One of the worlds most prestigious institutions has been on rocky ground for years, but with the awarding of the Nobel peace prize to a radical socialist, race baiter and community organizer who had only been in office for a matter of months and who is now advocating death and destruction, it is now a totally discredited laughing stock.

In conclusion, with Baroness Ashton's incompetence, President Obama's total ineptitude and Prime Minister Cameron's failed warmongering, the world will have no alternative but to send for the ultimate global peacemaker and all round 'straight kinda guy'. The Middle East Peace Envoy for the Quartet would have had this sorted out ages ago if let alone to get on with it. Tony Blair's fee is likely to be in the tens of millions but it will ultimately be money well spent.

Unelected EU Baroness Preaches Democracy In Egypt But Punishes Democratic Israel

No thinking person will be surprised by double standards and hypocrisy when it comes to the European Union. This whole institution was built on the basis of 'government in the post democratic age' using the Soviet Union model as a template.

It is stuffed to the rafters with a mix of professional career politicians, failed legislators, unqualified cronies, hangers on and communist apparatchiks left over from the former East European dictatorships.

This whole place is run by back scratching, patronage and back room stitch ups, which allows failed politicians from the member states to take lucrative non jobs for long enough to fill their pockets with taxpayers money and qualify for a gold plated pension for life.

The latest episode of gross hypocrisy is the visit of the grandly titled High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security, the Baroness Ashton, to the Middle East to put Egypt firmly 'on a path to democracy'. She met with the various Egyptian political parties including the Muslim Brotherhood who are advocates of totalitarian Sharia law.

One would have thought that the European Union is the last institution that should be preaching democracy but using Baroness Ashton as its leading preacher is beyond parody.

A brief look at Ashton's Curriculum Vitae reveals that she doesn't have a democratic bone in her body. My generation remember Ashton as one of leaders of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND), a group led by a gaggle of naive professional left wing agitators and clerics who advocated unilateral nuclear disarmament during the cold war period of Soviet aggression.

It is certain that the CND had been infiltrated by the Soviets and Ashton refuses to acknowledge Soviet financing of her organization to this day. Her political career started in earnest when she was appointed to the upper chamber of the British legislature, the House of Lords, by Tony Blair. Although totally unqualified, her rise through the ranks took off like a rocket when she was:

Appointed Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department of Education and Skills.

Appointed Minister for Sure Start

Appointed Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Constitutional Affairs (in preparation for pushing the EU constitution through Parliament without a referendum)

Appointed Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Ministry of Justice ( see above)

Appointed Leader of the House of Lords and Lord President of the Council.

Appointed Great Britain's Commissioner to the European Union.

One doesn't have to be a student of politics to note that Ashton acquired vast amounts of political and legislative power over the British people without a single vote being cast. She has never offered herself for election over her entire career and what makes this situation even more undemocratic is the fact that she is appointed for life therefore she cannot be removed by the British people regardless of her performance.

This is the person chosen by the Leaders of the European Union to preach democracy to the various blood soaked dictators of Egypt and the Middle East. These EU leaders don't stand up to scrutiny either considering the amount of power they wield over the peoples of Europe.

President of the European Council, which is accepted to be the Executive branch of the EU, is sinister Belgian totalitarian Herman von Rumpuy who was appointed without consultation with the people or Parliament.

President of the EU Commission, which is accepted to be the legislative branch, is Portuguese Maoist Jose Manuel Barrosso who, like von Rumpuy, was appointed without consultation. The Vice President of the Commission just happens to be the Baroness Ashton.

President of the European Parliament is the German socialist thug Martin Shultz. This appalling man, who can barely disguise his hatred of Great Britain, was appointed after a closed door stitch up between cronies and hangers on.

Any sane person is bound to question how an organization like this, stuffed with people like the anti-democracy Baroness Ashton, can be taken seriously when they start preaching democracy abroad.

Hatred of Israel is mandatory for a hard left 'progressive' zealot like Baroness Ashton and she demonstrates this, together with her hypocrisy, by declaring a cultural war against the only multi-party democracy in the Middle East, Israel.

While she is indulging the Muslim Brotherhood's deposed dictator Mohamed Morsi, who describes Jews as the 'decendents of apes and pigs', she is applying sanctions on Israeli academics and businesses alike.  These sanctions are likely to hurt Arabs as well as the Israelis that she hates so much.

This fact won't bother Ashton as demonstrating her anti-Israel credentials is more important than hurting the very Arabs she is supposed to be helping.

This double standard is nothing new for the long suffering people of Europe. Prior to Baroness Ashton they had to suffer the hopelessly under qualified, multi-millionaire socialist, the Baroness Kinnock. This venal pseudo intellectual has made a multi million pound fortune despite never having had a real job outside of politics. The taxpayers pockets are deep and always open for the politicians to plunder.

Another hard left 'progressive' in the Ashton mould, Glennys Kinnock demonstrated her idiocy by lecturing President Obama on how his government's subsidies to cotton farmers was making it difficult for their counterparts in the developing world to compete; all the while she was the Commissioner of an organization that provides the biggest subsidies to farmers in the history of agriculture, including its own cotton farmers! The EU's Common Agricultural Policy has ruined the entire agricultural sectors of developing countries since its inception decades ago.

The world will wait with baited breath to see if the efforts of the appointed, undemocratic Baroness Ashton will succeed in teaching Middle Eastern tyrants the virtues of democracy but maybe she should listen to her own lectures and democratize herself and the organization she represents first.
