Glenda Jackson And Dan Hodges - The Hereditary Bitterness Of The Left Personified

As the candidates, supporters and voters of the United Kingdom Independence Party ( UKIP) deservedly celebrate their stunning victory over the entrenched political establishment, one has to wonder what the result would have looked like if the media, including the BBC, had done their job properly and scrutinised the parties and candidates, together with their policies, in a fair and balanced manner.

It must be remembered that this result was won in the face of a coordinated campaign of vilification and smear that was unprecedented in the history of British election campaigns, with the vilest abuse reserved for the UKIP party leader, Nigel Farage.

What this coordinated campaign has also exposed is that the supposed unbridgeable ideological differences between the three legacy parties is non existent. It is highly unlikely that historical political enemies from diametrically opposed ends of the political spectrum could ever cooperate to such a detailed level unless, of course, the enmity is a sham acted out for public consumption.

It is now plainly obvious that it is their consensus on the major issues that has allowed this cooperation to take place, together with their fear of of losing power and with it the prospect of a taxpayer funded sinecure in the future.

Another thing that became apparent was the sheer ferocity of the attacks and the bitterness displayed by the characters involved. One has to ask what makes people of the left, many of whom come from privileged backgrounds, to harbour such feelings of bitterness toward people they have never met, and who are mainly honest, decent, hard working fellow citizens?

No one epitomised this bitterness more than ultra left wing commentator and Daily Telegraph 'journalist' Dan Hodges. His foam flecked attacks on UKIP, especially Nigel Farage, were bordering on hysterical and totally unjustified.

In the mistaken belief that simply labeling someone as 'racist' automatically gives him moral superiority and wins the game, he bombarded the media all day long with spurious charges without any evidence of actual racism.

Hodges obviously hasn't realised that the British people are losing their fear of political correctness and being labeled racist by people of his ilk and/or the BBC.  This in fact is now expected and in many cases it is worn as a badge of honour.

With a twist on the old adage about 'greatness' it could be said that 'some people are born bitter, some achieve bitterness and some have bitterness thrust upon them' - which one applies to Hodges is worth a little speculation.

Many people will have noticed that whatever their pet issue of the day is,  leftwingers always use the word 'passionate' when describing their personal beliefs. Every thing from climate change to badgers, from bicycle lanes to bankers bonuses, where normal sensible people will agree or disagree, leftwingers, deeming themselves to be morally superior, will be 'passionate' about it.

This propensity to feel 'passion' on every issue no matter how minor, is a one of the reasons why they  harbour feelings of bitterness toward anyone who disagrees.

Being born into the unreal world of Glenda Jackson's thespian community, Dan Hodges' access to real people has been severely restricted and one can only guess what strange ideas he was exposed to from an early age. We only need to look at the Redgrave family to get some idea of this community's weirdness.

Potty trained by socialists, Hodges is steeped in left wing politics and the Labour party, therefore it should come as no surprise that he gets 'passionate' about issues, but does that fully explain his bitterness. Apparently he didn't endure a poverty stricken upbringing - on the contrary he appears to have been rather privileged.

A possible explanation is that his bitterness was handed down from his mother, the washed up former actress Glenda Jackson. It must be remembered how she brought eternal shame on the Mother of Parliaments when she was unable to contain herself during the House of Commons tribute to the recently deceased Margaret Thatcher.

This was supposed to be a dignified, non partisan affair acknowledging Mrs. Thatchers unique contribution to British and Parliamentary life. Regardless of ones personal opinions, not only was she Great Britain's first woman Prime Minister, it cannot be denied that she was an immense figure both at home and on the world stage.

The dignity of the occasion was desecrated by what appeared to be an unwashed, bitter and twisted old hag who unleashed a spiteful tirade of abuse against the lady who undeniably arrested Great Britain's descent into socialist mediocrity.

In an act of jaw dropping nerve, Jackson also brought into question Mrs. Thatchers womanhood. Really? I invite the reader to look at these photographs and decide for themselves.

Judging by this example of uncontrolled bitterness by his mother, it is no wonder Dan Hodges is the way he is and UKIP can expect more of the same as his losses are compounded by UKIP's continued march to power.

However, it's time to put this issue to one side for the time being and savour the moment of victory while waiting with baited breath for the EU election results on Sunday.

Glenda Jackson - Washed Up Actress Joins The Thatcher Hatefest

With the reputation of 'Great' Britain slipping ever deeper into the mire over the vitriolic abuse hurled at the recently departed Margaret Thatcher, one is entitled to expect that the Mother of Parliaments would at least show a little dignity and respect.

As the world's media digested the disgusting scenes of unwashed yobs celebrating her passing with street parties, there are now threats by various 'progressive' groups to disrupt her funeral with rioting and other anti-social behavior. These threats should have galvanised 'Great' Britain's leadership to demonstrate that these are the actions of an uncivilised minority.

A demonstration of British decency was made even more imperative when the state broadcaster kept giving a platform for every extreme anti-Thatcher nutter they could dig up. The BBC gave the oxygen of publicity to the vilest of reptiles that slither on the political scene, including:

George Galloway, the Saddam Hussein supporting champagne socialist, who hates 'Great' Britain and lends his support to any Muslim radical cause that he can squeeze a vote from.

Red Ken Livingstone, communist ex Mayor of London, anti-Semite and tax avoider. Another supporter of radical Islam who demonstrated his class by assaulting his pregnant girlfriend for daring to smoke.

Peter Tatchel, Britain's most high profile homosexual activist and former Labour Party parliamentary candidate. The paedophile's friend, who campaigns for lowering the age of consent for sexual relations with teenagers.

Gerry Adams, the IRA terrorist leader, who's gang failed to kill Mrs Thatcher but managed to kill and maim innocent bystanders in the attempt.

It was left to 'Great' Britain's Parliamentarians to rescue the countries' battered reputation before the eyes of a disbelieving world.

Parliament was recalled from its Easter holiday to pay tribute to Great Britain's first woman Prime Minister, the Iron Lady who rescued the country from a Labour induced economic disaster and who put the British people on the road to freedom and prosperity.

Anyone who was expecting a respectful occasion would be disappointed. Many on the 'progressive' Labour side didn't even have the decency to turn up, revealing lines of empty benches for the world to see.

To make matters infinitely worse, the former actress and champagne socialist, Glenda Jackson, debased the occasion by unleashing her bile and personal animosity at a woman who's handbag she is not fit to polish.

The bitter and twisted Jackson appeared to blame all of today's ills on Mrs Thatcher despite the fact that the Iron Lady has been out of office for over twenty years and Jackson's Labour Party had just enjoyed thirteen years of unfettered power.

During her hateful attack, Jackson had the nerve to question Mrs Thatcher's 'womanliness'. As the photographs clearly show, Mrs Thatcher retained her dignity at all times and was immaculately turned out even when her health had deteriorated.

Contrast this with the washed up, boozed out, scruffy old hag who appeared before the cameras in the House of Commons yesterday, for the whole world to see.

Glenda Jackson's attack on the deceased Mrs Thatcher sullied what was supposed to be a dignified occasion, organised to pay tribute to a former Prime Minister who had served her country and saved the nation from economic collapse and a bleak socialist future.

Glenda Jackson is an utter disgrace and a national embarrassment; she has brought further shame on the Mother of Parliaments and the British people.

She should do her constituents and the country a favour by resigning forthwith and removing her disgusting unkempt person from the public eye.

Nelson Mandela, Mrs Thatcher And The Biased BBC

Like the National Health Service, the British Broadcasting Corporation, universally known as the BBC, is touted by its supporters as another much loved British institution and another envy of the world. This taxpayer funded broadcaster is required by its Charter to be a 'public service' and politically neutral.

The reality couldn't be further from the manufactured truth. The BBC is run by a government appointed Trust and is infested with politically correct 'progressive' activists who's only mission in life is the dissemination of their own propaganda.

The trade unions who dominate the BBC workforce set new lows yesterday when organising their strike against job cuts and so called bullying. (Trade Unionists complaining about bullying? Maybe they should get some advise from Arthur Scargill).

A union spokesperson stated that they would postpone strike action and return to work should the ailing former President of South Africa, Nelson Mandela, shuffle off his mortal coil and go to meet his maker.

They also stated that the possible death of ailing former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, "might not have warranted the same response" or as another union spokesperson is quoted a saying on a possible return to work,  "I could not guarantee it".

An unnamed spokesperson demonstrated the BBC mindset perfectly when he/she/it said of the contingency that "we welcome this announcement and it is a tribute to the BBC staff ".

For those reluctant 'subscribers' who are familiar with the BBC, this kind of political bigotry comes as no big surprise but for those who are not so familiar, consider this an education in the manner of how a state broadcaster operates.

The Chairman and the BBC Executive Board, who are supposed to guarantee that BBC is run in the interests of the taxpayer, are appointed by the government not the taxpayers. The BBC comes under the remit of the Orwellian Ministry of Culture, Media and Sport.

(It is a sign of the post democratic age when under a supposedly freedom loving Conservative government and in a time of financial constraint, the British people have to pay for and suffer such a totalitarian institution as a Ministry of Culture, Media and Sport).

The current Chairman is Chris Patton, a serial loser and career political bureaucrat. As the Conservative Member of Parliament for Bath he was such an utter failure that his own constituents booted him out of a safe seat.

As a reward for being a loyal 'progressive' bag carrier and without any qualifications for the job, he was made Governor of Hong Kong where, as Fat Pang, he managed to upset all sides during the handover to the Chinese.

Fat Pang Patton is the epitome of the reward for failure culture that infests British public life. Since Hong Kong, he has been a disastrous European Commissioner and was keeping a low profile as Chancellor of Oxford University when he was mysteriously appointed the Chairman of the BBC Executive Board.

Since he joined the BBC it has staggered from one disaster to another with the Jimmy Savile paedophile sex ring and the huge renumeration packages of its top executives making global headlines.

BBC employees, from the top executives and editors to programmers, presenters, journalists and cameramen, even down to the chief sweeper up and bottle washer, are steeped to the core in 'progresive' politics.

It should come as no surprise that the BBC and its employees have an uncontrollable, visceral hatred for Mrs Thatcher but consider Nelson Mandela to be a divine being on par with Che Guevara and his butcher in chief, Fidel Castro.

It must be pointed out that BBC bias is the issue here and not any philosophical affiliations.

To some, Nelson Mandela is a freedom fighter who suffered torture and imprisonment in pursuit of his cause, to others he is a common terrorist no different to Al Qaeda and who was sentenced to prison as a criminal for his indiscriminate bombing campaign.

To the BBC he is halfway to divinity.

To some, Margaret Thatcher enlightened the people and saved her country from the economic disaster perpetrated by the communist controlled trade unions and Labour party, to others she set the relentless 'progressive' revolution back decades and engineered the fall of communism.

To the BBC she is the devil incarnate.

It is a mystery that the BBC is the standard bearer for equality and women's rights but they have never given Mrs Thatcher any credit for taking on the male dominated political establishment and going on to become Great Britain's first female Prime Minister.

When it comes to the great issues of the day, the BBC can be guaranteed to relentlessly push the 'progressive' agenda.

The BBC is passionate about the Palestinians while hating Jews and Israel.

Despite the relentless increase in government spending and debt, the BBC continues to push the Labour party line on 'savage cuts'.

The BBC is a soapbox for Al Gore and his Man Made Global Warming Scam. They are now so hopelessly biased on this issue that they have unilaterally declared their legal obligation to be balanced as obsolete.

They declare that because Climate Realism is a minority view they are not obliged to give it equal air time. Now that 'combating climate change' fanatics are in a minority the same should apply but I doubt it will.

The same goes for party political bias. The BBC refuse to give UKIP air time comparable with their support but continue to indulge the ultra 'progressive' Liberal Democrats even though support has plummeted.

The BBC are committed Europhiles who support the United States of Europe while demonising anyone who disagrees.

The BBC indulge in sexuality politics and are relentless in pursuit of the LGBT agenda and homosexual marriage.

They despise Christianity but take the politically correct point of view on the issue of Islam.

The BBC are the governments biggest promoters of immigration, celebrating diversity, and the transformation of Great Britain into a multi-cultural state.

The BBC had a hatred for President Bush that was almost as visceral as that of Mrs Thatcher but they adore the new 'Progressive in Chief', Barack Obama.

They had a similar hatred for President Ronald Reagan.

Ignoring the majority of the people, the leaders of the three legacy parties, LibLabCon are all adamant that the BBC is a much loved British institution and should continue to be funded by the taxpayer.

The fact that the BBC is a government run propaganda broadcaster, which is funded under threat of imprisonment, gives an indication of how far down the authoritarian road Great Britain has travelled.

One day, when freedom is restored to Great Britain, the BBC will be confined to the dustbin of history and its employees will be free to leave and go work for a state broadcaster in any dictatorship of their choice.

Socialist/Progressive Candidate Was Disappointed That Mrs Thatcher Survived Murder Attempt

Since the writ was moved for the Eastleigh byelection, which as we know was triggered by the criminal and deceitful behavior of the sitting Liberal Democrat MP Chris Huhne, the political parties have unleashed their spin machines on the town to do their worst.

It is at times like this that the general public gets to witness the natural behavior of the political class in all its ugly glory.

The spin, the lies, the promises they know they won't keep, the happy family photographs which convey the impression of domestic tranquility, the faux concern about local issues, it is there for all to see.

The most depressing part of this degrading spectacle, or the most laughable depending on how one sees it, is the number of dumbed down voters who fall for it. Far too many will actually believe every word of what they are told and vote accordingly.

It is refreshing therefore to see a some honesty in a candidate and it is hoped that the electorate will listen to Labour's John O'Farrell and form an opinion based on what he has said rather than on what the party spinners manufacture on his behalf.

O'Farrell is a typical member of the 'progressive' comedy writers rabble that infests the entertainment industry/BBC axis and who are much loved by the Labour Party and the Guardian for their celebrity status.

This fixation with celebrity is supposed to make the Labour Party, with its 19th century ideology, look modern and trendy in order to appeal to the younger voter. In reality there's nothing modern and trendy about socialism, it always has and always will, result in economic destruction, misery and an equal sharing of poverty.

This despicable John O'Farrell was disappointed that the democratically elected Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher, was not killed in the Brighton bomb blast that killed 5 and injured 31 innocent people, some of whom were permanently disabled, both physically and mentally.

It is worth quoting this retard in full, in order to experience the full callousness of his imbecility.

"...in October 1984, when the bomb went off , I felt a surge of excitement at the nearness of her demise and yet disappointed that such a chance had been missed. This is me, the pacifist, the anti capital punishment, the anti IRA liberal, wishing that they had got her, why did she have to leave the bathroom two minutes earlier, I ask myself over and over again".

The millionaire leader of the Labour Party and communist hypocrite, Red Ed Miliband, has endorsed this awful man and campaigned on his behalf, therefore we can deduce that he has no problem with his revolting views.

The voters of Eastleigh should be made aware of the mindset of their Labour Party candidate and if they decide to elect him as their representative, they shouldn't be disappointed or outraged if someone who disagrees with his socialist/progressive ideology blows up Ed Miliband together with a few innocent bystanders in the process.

To further demonstrate his treasonous views, O'Farrell expressed his disappointment that the British military, at the cost of 255 British lives, won the Falklands War against a brutal dictatorship that was guilty of murdering thousands of its own citizens.

These victims consisted mainly of socialists, communists and trade unionists i.e people of similar views to himself.

The whiskey loving General Galtieri invaded a sovereign territory and threatened to do the same to the British inhabitants as he did to his own people.

Not only did the British victory liberate the Falkland Islanders from tyranny, it also resulted in the downfall off the military dictatorship that had brutalised the Argentinian people for years.

Being a socialist or 'progressive' as they now label themselves, O'Farrell obviously follows his instincts by preferring a dictatorship to a country of free people. Dictatorship is in the 'progressive' DNA, they can't help themselves.

It would appear that O'Farrell has never been to Eastleigh and yet this is the candidate that the remote London elite are dumping on the people.

This is a clear demonstration, if any were required, that Red Ed Miliband and the Labour Party hierarchy hold the people of Eastleigh in utter contempt by inferring that they are incapable of choosing a candidate from their own community to be their representative in Parliament.

Regardless of the appalling mindset of O'Farrell, if the voters of Eastleigh fall the spin and lies of the Labour Party machine and elect this cretin, they will be voting for the continued fundamental transformation of Great Britain into the socialist dystopia that Labour's ideology demands.

This will include:

More tax, spend, borrow and debt with Quantitative Easing thrown in to devalue the currency and peoples savings.

More welfare dependency in exchange for votes.

Continued surrender of British sovereignty to the totalitarians of the European Union.

Continued cultural replacement, or ethnic cleansing of Anglo-Saxon culture, via open border mass immigration.

The Labour Party intends to put out the welcome mat for the hundreds of thousands of economic migrants and criminals from Romania and Bulgaria next January.

Under orders from their bosses in Brussels, they will allow these immigrants' unfettered access to all public services including cash welfare benefits, housing, healthcare and education.

The Labour hierarchy together with their trade union backers will do nothing to stop these economic migrants from driving down wages.

They will not amend their own Human Rights law and allow for deportation of foreign criminals who are released onto the streets to terrorise law abiding people.

The future of the British people and their long history of individual liberty and democracy is under threat like never before by an arrogant political class that is out of control.

The people of Eastleigh have an ideal opportunity to send a clear message to these charlatans by rejecting the candidates of the three main political parties or by choosing an independent from within their own community.

Fight back against the party machines and maybe, just maybe, it will set an example for the rest of country to follow and the people can start to reclaim the country that their ancestors died for.

America Joins Europe In The New Dark Age Of Socialism

In the 1970's The Socialist Workers Party known as the SWP started to make its mark on the British loony left political scene. Their dedicated activists were to be seen picketing factory gates and workplaces the length of the country harassing the workers and selling their weekly rag sheet, known as the Socialist Worker.

I recall a banner headline in 1974 on the occasion of Richard Nixon's resignation above a blown up picture of his face: One Man Down A System To Go.

This anti-American sentiment was shared by the entire British left including the communist dominated Trades Unions and the Labour Party.

The reason is obvious, that while the American system of prosperity driven by individual liberty and constitutionally limited government existed, the equal sharing of poverty and misery offered by communism/socialism would be unattractive by comparison.

In contradiction to Karl Marx's predictions and despite the efforts of the Trade Unions and the hard left to incite a class war, the people of Great Britain were not the revolutionary type and they showed no desire to overthrow the established order or to replace it with a Soviet style communist autocracy.

The people were relatively happy with their system of multi-party elections even though they would traditionally grumble about the results.

To progress their cause the hard left offered themselves up for election under their own banner and were subsequently humiliated every time, attracting a derisory handful of votes and using up valuable resources on lost deposits.

The Thatcher and Reagan administrations were a bitter blow to the hard left as they offered an alternative to the socialist orthodoxy of government control over the economy, political power and the minutiae of everyday life.

These two administrations reversed the generational drift to left by setting the people and industry free from the communist dominated, and in many cases Soviet Union funded, Trade Unions, from the Labour Party and from ever intrusive government bureaucrats.

The old inefficient nationalised industries were sold off with share discounts for the employees and for the first time in history working class people became shareholders. Social housing was sold off to the residents at a discount so working class people became property owners.

To the horror of the global left, Thatcher and Reagan took their free enterprise philosophies onto the global stage resulting in the downfall of the Soviet Union.

The global leftists progress towards communist domination of the planet was put into reverse. People started to become independent of government by taking control of their own lives and removing once and for all the left wing establishments' reason to exist.

The Thatcher/Reagan defeat of communism had a galvanising effect on the left, they analysed their position and came up with a devastatingly effective agenda to usurp power and to put in place an infrastructure that would ensure governments like Thatcher/Reagan could never happen again.

Dropping the words communism and socialism and now referring to themselves as 'progressives' the hard left united, they put aside their ideological differences and infiltrated the existing political parties across Europe, the United States and the UN.

For 18 years in Great Britain they planned their revolution down to the smallest detail. They infiltrated and politicised the traditional British institutions ready for the day they took control.

Europe was already a cesspit of authoritarian socialism with the European Union taking over where the Soviet Union left off but in 1997 with the election of the the Labour government in Great Britain the transformation agenda to impose eternal socialism began in earnest.

This long planned and permanent fundamental transformation of Great Britain was benign in the beginning but was ramped up after Labours' re-election for a second term.

To make the transformation permanent the 'progressives' instigated what was in effect a scorched earth policy with the intention that any incoming government trying to clean up the destruction would be so unpopular they would be limited to one ineffective term.

The list of their crimes is endless but in summary:

Unlimited expansion of the state at the expenses of the private sector.

Unprecedented increases in direct and indirect taxation.

Ensuring high taxation and government control of the economy for generations to come by refusing to cut spending thus deliberately increasing debt and the obligation of debt repayment.

Cultural and demographic replacement, otherwise know as ethnic cleansing, by using open border mass immigration.

Carrying out a cultural war on traditional Judeo-Christian values allowing other cultures like Islam to dominate.

Creation of a dependent client state by extending welfare entitlements to almost everyone including immigrants who have paid nothing into the system.

Creating a permanent socialist voting proletariat by squeezing the middle class out of existence via taxation, envy and class warfare.

Controlling the media, effectively closing down alternative opinions.

Indoctrinating children via the education system.

Attempting to control thought and behaviour by zealously policing a political correctness agenda.

Disenfranchising the people by continually transferring sovereignty to unelected supra-national bodies such as the European Union and the United Nations.

The fundamental transformation of Great Britain from a free sovereign country based on individual liberty into a cesspit of socialist deprivation is complete. Great Britain is unrecognisable from the country it was a decade ago.

The capitulation of the American House of Representatives over the 'fiscal cliff' negotiations spells the beginning of the end for the American people.

With the re-election of President Obama for a second term the 'progressives' are on a high and they are determined to implement their long planned transformational agenda.....permanently.

As was the case in Great Britain, tax hikes for everyone with no accompanying spending cuts is how it starts, by the end of this administration the United States of America will be a unrecognisable from the one we know and love.

So as the America people wake up this morning to the new reality of defeat to the socialists they have finally joined the rest of us poor suckers who have been suffering the 'progressive' revolution for a decade or more.

The liberty loving people of the world were in denial when they thought that the last bastion of freedom on the planet would hold the socialist revolution at bay and in doing so it gave them hope that one day they would overcome and throw off the shackles of government engineered equality, fairness and misery. Alas they were wrong.

Mrs Thatcher's Last Laugh - Arthur Scargill Humiliated In Court Decision

With the news that Arthur Scargill has lost his court case which he brought against the remnants of his own union, this is an opportune moment to reflect on the history of this hypocrite who put revolutionary politics before the interests of his members, destroying entire communities in the process.

Free marketeer and avowed anti-socialist Margaret Thatcher was the Prime Minister of Great Britain at the same time as the two unrepentant communists Arthur Scargill and Mick McGahey took control of the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM), Great Britain's most powerful union.

Coal mining was one of the biggest industries in Great Britain which not only powered the industrial revolution but the Royal Navy as well. The entire economy was powered by coal and the industry employed hundreds of thousands of workers with the NUM having a membership approaching half a million. The NUM wielded immense power and in 1974 they used this power to bring down the elected government of Prime Minister Edward Heath.

The discovery of oil in the 1920's  and the conversion of the Royal Navy ships from coal to oil started the decline of the coal industry, this fact combined with the availability of cheap coal from overseas made the nationalised British coal industry uncompetitive and an unsustainable drain on the economy.

The Labour governments of Wilson and Callaghan, under their infamous Plan for Coal, were forced to rationalise the industry which inevitably meant that unproductive mines would have to be closed.

These closures were continued by Edward Heath's Conservative government and were used as an excuse for the NUM to strike work. By using blackmail, intimidation and the usual threats of violence they brought the country to its knees and the downfall of the Heath government. 

Due to the timing of the strike this sad period in British history was known as the 'winter of discontent', there were power cuts, a three day working week, mountains of uncollected rubbish in the streets and even the dead were left unburied.

This collapse of the economy resulted in a general election where power was handed to the union controlled Labour Party who promptly caved in to the NUM. Regardless of the collapsed economy and the dire state of the coal industry, wages were increased by a staggering 20%.

This was a typical piece of socialist logic which did nothing for the long term viability of the industry and only made matters worse in the longer term.

Enough is written about Margaret Thatcher's ideology and motivation elsewhere, but the same is not widely known about Scargill and McGahey.

Arthur Scargill followed his father into coal mining and communism. While his father was a member of the Communist Party of Great Britain (CPGB), young Arthur was a member of the Young Communist League (YCL).

As part of the infiltration strategy of communists into mainstream democratic socialist parties, which is laid down in Karl Marx's Communist Manifesto, Arthur Scargill resigned the YCL and joined the Labour Party.

Scargill resigned from the Labour Party when it dropped Clause IV from its constitution, this clause committed the party to nationalisation of all the major industries and utilities. He formed his breakaway Socialist Labour Party which went on to get an average of 1% of the popular vote in subsequent elections.

Scargill was and still is a revolutionary Marxist and like the rest of his ilk he is a hypocrite of the very highest order.

What the membership of the NUM didn't know while they were striking work and impoverishing their families was that Arthur Scargill was busy setting himself up with some not very communist sweet deals.

There was to be none of this Marxist nonsense about abolishing private property for our Arthur. He bought his own piece of real estate in Barnsley, after which he negotiated the fuel bills, the security system and even his own tax returns to be paid for out of his members subscriptions for the rest his life.

Scargill also negotiated an all expenses paid apartment in the *Barbican Centre, London, for his use and that of his surviving widow, paid for from the members' union dues. Somewhere along the line he also negotiated a 'Papa' Doc Duvalier President for Life deal.

* For information, the Barbican Centre is an up market housing development in London occupied by the operators of the capitalist system such as bankers, stockbrokers and various other 1%'ers. The very people that Scargill professes to despise.

Arthur Scargill had nice things to say about Stalin and also claimed that the ideas of Marx, Engels, Lenin and Stalin "explained the real world".

Mick McGahey, Scargill's deputy in the NUM, was a life long unrepentant communist who's father was a founder of the Communist Party of Great Britain, when that dissolved, McGahey joined the Scottish Communist Party.

McGahey was a communist fanatic who supported the Soviet invasion of Hungary and the subsequent repression of the Hungarian people. He is also quoted a s saying that the USSR "is a beacon of hope for humanity." 

Looking back at 1974 strike and the downfall of the Heath government, Scargill and McGahey were going for a repeat performance with the Thatcher government, a government and Prime Minister they ideologically opposed and hated with a passion.

The only thing that they needed was an excuse to strike work.

Armed the knowledge that many of Britain's coal mines were over 100 years old and suffered geological problems thus making them uneconomical, Scargill and McGahey committed the NUM to fight any mine closures except on the grounds of exhaustion.

As a result of this commitment the entire coal industry needed a massive subsidy from the taxpayer and this made the industries that were dependent on coal, such as the steel industry and electricity generation,  economically uncompetitive.

In order to rescue the bankrupt British economy, which was sunk by previous Labour Party mismanagement, the Thatcher government proposed to remove the subsidy and close uneconomic mines. Scargill and McGahey had their excuse and a year long strike followed.

Scargill and McGahey refused to hold a national strike ballot, instead by using the 'no mine closure rule' they struck work at  a mine that was earmarked for closure.

They went on to abuse the traditional loyalty of the mine working communities by demanding  sympathy action, they resorted to bullying, thuggery and violence to browbeat dissident communities into line.

Mrs Thatcher had read Scargill and McGahey like a book, she knew what was coming and had long prepared for their politically motivated strike by stockpiling supplies of coal. Her government also organised a fleet of trucks ready for its transportation if required.

More controversially she put the police on a war footing to make sure that any mine worker who wished to work would be able to do so without intimidation.

The rest is history, the NUM split with the formation of the Union of Democratic Miners (UDM), the strike collapsed and with it the entire coal industry.

Thanks to Arthur Scargill and Mick McGahey membership of the once mighty NUM plummeted from a peak of 450,000 to around 1,700 today. ( that's not a typo it really is only seventeen hundred)

Instead of a managed introduction of new forms of power generation, the political ambitions of Scargill and McGahey resulted in the industry being shutdown within a matter of years destroying entire communities in the process.

Mick McGahey departed for the great communist utopia in the sky in 1999 to spend eternity with his hero Stalin, the inhabitants of his home town of Cambuslang in socialist Scotland have insulted the murdered victims of Stalin by erecting a memorial in McGahey's honour.

Arthur Scargill still endures with the unshakable belief that the collapse of the coal industry and the most powerful trade union in history was nothing to do with him, it was all Thatchers fault.

It doesn't enter Scargill's thick skull that the duly elected Prime Minister of some 60 million people, including the tens of thousands of NUM members, had a duty to stand up to the bullying and blackmail of two communists fanatics who continually failed to get elected to parliament under their true banner.

Currently, the NUM is in financial straits and can no longer finance the perks of their 'President for Life'. The burden of this largess, as always, falls on the membership.

The NUM reviewed his contract and were unable to understand how these perks found they way in and if they are appropriate.

The financial plight of his union doesn't bother Scargill, his priorities have always been himself and his political agenda, this always took precedence over the interests of his members.

He took his own union to court in order to continue with his 'entitlements' regardless of their affordability.

The judge found in favour of the NUM so Scargill now has to finance his own extravagant bourgeois lifestyle.

Perhaps he could start selling the Big Issue or sitting outside the House of Lords with his dog on a piece of string waiting for his old friend the multi millionaire Marxist Neil Kinnock to pass by and drop a few coins in his battered cup.

This is a final ignominious and humiliating end to a once powerful union baron who abused that power in order to pursue his perverted ideology and a reason for the Iron Lady to indulge in one last laugh to herself.
