I have never subscribed to the oft repeated view of a growing number people that socialism, or 'progressivism' as they now call it, is a mental disease. As a reformed socialist myself I always used immaturity as the excuse for my misspent youth , probably as a self defence mechanism to save face.
Judging by the behavior of socialists today it is becoming increasingly difficult to blame immaturity for their total inability to analyse irrefutable facts and then carry on promoting a failed ideology with such unquestioning religious zeal.
Two posts that were recommended to me not only proves beyond any shadow of a doubt that those who use the mentally ill description are correct in their opinion and that finding a universal cure for socialists is going to prove difficult if not impossible.
The first is an excellent article titled Why Socialism and Wealth Redistribution Don't Work and Causes MORE Poverty, Inequality and Injustice. The article, which is barely two pages long, is laid out in such a way that even the most dumbed down reader cannot fail to agree with the authors unarguable logic. I would suggest that everyone, even socialists/progressives, read this and pass it on.
Without giving too much away, the author begins with a brief introduction into socialist logic and how it can cause further damage to the very people it is supposed to help.
The author then lists the 'Unintended Consequences of Socialist Policies', for example:
"Social programmes create more demand for those very programmes in a self perpetuating cycle because given government handouts, people come to expect and rely on them. And therefore, you can never spend enough, because the more you do, the greater the need to do so".
"Social programmes are a disincentive to work and act responsibly. After all, if some or all of your needs are taken care of, and if someone else picks up the tab whenever something goes wrong, why would you worry about such minor details as work ethic, productivity, financial responsibility and family obligations? Consequently, when productivity takes a downturn, leading to a shrinking economy, guess who suffers...everybody! Oh and as always, the rich suffer the least".
'The Road to Poverty, Inequality and Injustice' describes how socialism causes poverty by slowing economic growth and progress, it causes inequality by misallocating taxpayers money into the hands of the rich and well connected and also causes injustice by the inequality it promotes.
'The Price of Socialism' illuminates the unintended consequences of socialism and likens the politicians panacea for poverty as "touting a miracle cure for cancer, yet failing to mention it causes blindness, brain damage and eventual cardiac arrest".
In Conclusion, the author states in part that "the government can completely help a small number of people, or slightly help a large number of people. What it absolutely can not do is completely help a large number of people. It's just impossible to expect a small minority, i.e. the rich, to support the rest of the population. It cannot happen".
I have personally spent donkey's years arguing about how socialism always ends in poverty and tears wherever it has been imposed. This sums it up concisely in one article and I cannot recommend it highly enough.
The second article titled Guns in America - A Statistical Perspective was another concise explanation of the facts which cannot be refuted and should not be ignored. As in the first article the facts are laid out in such a simple manner even dumbest of students cannot fail to come to a logical conclusion that gun ownership decreases crime.
As with the first one, I highly recommend this article so I won't give too much away other than a few bullet points:
Every year, guns are used over 80 times more often to protect a life than to take one.
200,000 times a year- Women use a gun to defend against sexual abuse.
3 out of five polled felons say they won't mess with an armed prospective victim.
Highest Intentional Homicide Rate per 100,000 residents:
No 1 - Honduras: 91.6
No 2 - El Salvador: 69.2
No 3 - Cote D'Ivoire: 56.9
USA is at No 103 at 4.8 per 100,000 residents and is No 1 in gun ownership at 88.8% per 100 residents.
In Great Britain where the possession of firearms is banned, there are 2,034 violent crimes per 100,000 people. In the USA the figure is 466.
In the decade following the Labour Party's election in '97 and their banning of handguns, the number of recorded violent attacks soared by 77% to 1.2 million.
In the USA an analysis of crime statistics by the FBI revealed that states that had adopted 'conceal carry laws' reduced:
Murders by 8.5%
Rapes by 5%
Aggravated assaults by 7%
Robberies by 3%
And so it goes on, sourced statistic after sourced statistic all proving that firearm ownership reduces crime significantly. Even the police cannot match the armed citizen:
Police = 606 criminals killed each year
Armed citizen = 1,527 criminals killed each year.
The only reason people ignore the overwhelming truth confirmed by irrefutable facts is their mindless adherence to their ideology.

Oprah Winfrey Joins The Race Baiters - Shamelessly Compares Trayvon Martin Death To A Lynching
According to informed opinion, the descent of Oprah Winfrey into the sewer inhabited by professional race baiters such as the Reverends Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, is more than a tragedy, it's a wasted opportunity for much needed reconciliation. She is not only listed as the richest woman in America but also the second most powerful woman next to Michelle Obama.
Oprah Winfrey's popularity cuts across racial and ethnic boundaries encompassing as many whites as other ethnic and religious groups. She could have used her popularity and power to heal the racial divide that was deliberately created by the Obama administration, who were aided and abetted by the race baiting and grievance industries, in the wake of the Trayvon Martin verdict.
Her comments comparing the tragic death of Trayvon Martin to the lynching of Emmett Till for flirting with a white woman in 1955 is not just designed to stir up racial hatred but it is thoroughly dishonest. Her further comment that when she "hears the N word she thinks of the millions of people who heard that as their last word as they were hanging from a tree", is totally outrageous.
Comments such as these are outright lies that alienate white people by insinuating that they are somehow complicit in the lynching of 'millions' of African American people.
Winfrey also stated that "Americans know diddly-squat about the history of the civil rights movement": if she really believes that 'millions' of African Americans were lynched by white people then I would suggest that her own knowledge of history amounts to 'diddley-squat' or she has succumbed to Al Sharpton's racist propaganda.
This deliberate falsification of facts is irresponsible and designed to create the myth of a black holocaust visited upon African Americans by their white compatriots. Oprah Winfrey should hold her head in shame for indulging in such gutter propaganda.
According to research by the Yale-New Haven Teachers Institute: between 1882 and 1951, 4,730 people were lynched in the USA: 3,437 Negro and 1,293 white. The largest number of lynchings occurred in 1892. Of the 230 persons lynched that year 161 were Negroes and 69 were white.
If Oprah Winfrey is to be believed it would mean that there were 14,000+ lynchings per year over the same 69 year period.
This is racist muckraking and incitement to hatred in its lowest form and it is unbecoming of a person of Oprah Winfrey's stature.
Some actual facts that she deliberately ignored in her shameless attempt at portraying the Trayvon Martin case as a racially motivated white on black murder:
Trayvon Martin was not the innocent, angelic teen as portrayed by the administration and the race baiting industry. He was a drug abusing street thug and thief who had been repeatedly expelled from school.
There had been numerous crimes committed by African American youths in George Zimmerman's community. Zimmerman was a neighbourhood watch chief and responsible for crime prevention. It was his job to monitor Trayvon Martin.
Trayvon Martin was beating Zimmerman's brains out on the sidewalk at the time he was shot.
The FBI were given the task of investigating the incident to ascertain if it was racially motivated, or if there was any racial element at all. To the disappointment of the administration, Oprah and the race baiters, they found none.
George Zimmerman was tried in a court of law and judged to be innocent by a jury of his peers who were selected and approved by the both the prosecution and the defence after hearing all the evidence.
That should have signaled the end of the matter but the Obama administration, which includes the radical black activist Eric Holder, together with the race baiters refused to let it go. They are deliberately keeping the pot boiling in order to make America out to be a country still rife with racial discrimination committed by white people against African Americans. This is most likely to be in preparation for a reparations claim for the historical "lingering legacy of slavery".

Susan Rice was National Security Advisor before becoming American Ambassador to the United Nations.
The top legal officer in the land is Eric Holder.
And then there is the President himself, a drug taking hippie with no background, no academic history, no work history and no notable achievement at all, became President of the last great superpower on the planet only because of the colour of his skin which he inherited from his African father.
Four of the top ten richest 'men of colour' on the planet are from that supposed sink hole of discrimination, the USA.

In the 1997 census, 19.4 percent of all African immigrants in the US held a graduate degree compared with 8.1 percent of adult white Americans and 3.8 percent of native born African Americans.
The list of notable academics and high achievers who emigrated into America from Africa is impressive, including a Nobel Prize winner for Chemistry, Ahmed Zewail from Egypt and former NASA chief engineer Kitaw Ejigu from Ethiopia.

Matt Damon - Celebrity Socialist Hypocrite Sings To The British Choir
If there is one thing that can drive what would otherwise be tolerant people to the point of intolerance then it is wealthy socialists preaching one thing in public and doing the exact opposite in their private lives.
Advocates of free enterprise, myself included, tolerated Matt Damon's trendy socialist posturing in order to enjoy his supreme talents as an actor but his latest revelations to Great Britain's politics weary public are too much to ignore.
He may not have realized when he informed the British public that, despite his life long, heartfelt support for public schools he will be sending his own children to private schools; that this kind of hypocrisy is nothing new to them. This sort of behavior is standard practice for Great Britain's most vocal supporters of the socialist Labour party and other left wing groups.
In fact many of the Labour party's representatives in Parliament are privately educated and who, like Matt Damon, preach state schools for the children of the little people but send their own to the exclusive schools they are actively trying to abolish.
Matt Damon comes from the Hollywood centred acting fraternity that is rife with socialist hypocrisy, from George Clooney to Jennifer Lopez, the industry is infested with multi-millionaire celebrities preaching compassion for the poor and wealth redistribution while sitting on personal fortunes and living lifestyles of such excess that it would turn a Roman Emperor green with envy.
That well known supporter of socialism and state schools, Jennifer Lopez, is busy demonstrating her compassion for the poor by earning millions and looking for private schools that are suitable for her little darlings. The list of celebrity socialists is depressingly long but the one good thing that comes out of it for the ordinary folk is that the spoutings of the celebrity elite are so insincere it gives them a reason for much laughter and hilarity.
The sad part is that celebrity socialists of the Ben Affleck, George Clooney ilk, despite their immense wealth, still help themselves to money from the hard pressed taxpayer to finance their films which in turn adds to their personal fortunes. As the British people have learned to their cost, personal considerations will come before political principle any day of the week, especially for the loudest advocates of socialism.
Matt Damon is visiting the ancestral home of socialist hypocrisy to promote his latest film Elysium. In other words he his selling his wares like a snake oil salesman to a largely poor audience with a view to adding to his already substantial fortune.
Wealthy hypocrites like Damon are labeled 'champagne socialists' and Great Britain like America, is infested with them, and no more so than the Labour party. This was the party of the working man but now less than five percent of its representatives in Parliament has ever had a proper job in the real world.
The working man's party has been hijacked by an exclusively educated metropolitan elite who adopted the cause of socialism either because it's trendy, through middle class guilt or to satisfy their lust for power. Whatever their reason they avoid the disastrous consequences of their socialist policies for themselves and their spawn.
Dianne Abbott is a typical example, she is a black racist who enjoyed an education that she denies everyone else, who sees everything through the prism of skin colour and she is also a noisy advocate of socialism. She disparages private and grammar schools but finds an excuse to send her son to one. Her reasons for this behavior not only exposes her hypocrisy but her utter contempt for other parents who do not share her skin colour. She doesn't seem to understand that if the schools in her constituency will be bad for her son then will be equally bad for everyone elses. With total predictability she plays the race card with her assertion that a West Indian mother will go to the wall for her children which implies that any other mother, particularly a British white one, would not.
Phony Tony Blair, the self described "straight kinda guy" who professes to have "come to socialism through Karl Marx" was exclusively educated as was his son. Phony Tony left Marxism behind for one moment when he was forced to defend parental choice for his own Education Secretary, Ruth Kelly, who decided to send one of her own children to a private school.
After destroying an education system that provided upward mobility for working class children and smearing the private education system, the new type of working mans representatives are moving the goalposts to justify their own hypocrisy. Even Peter Watt, the former General Secretary of the Labour Party has bent the rules by claiming that it is ok for socialists to pay for education and health care for their children.
It would appear that equality and fairness doesn't count when it comes to their own children.
The list of Labour Party hypocrites is long and one has to wonder how politicians can afford the school fees considering they are always bleating about being poor and underpaid.
These exclusively educated Labour MP's should be an embarrassment as well as a reality check for anyone, especially working people, who vote for these charlatans or who are considering voting for them in the future. They are actors like Matt Damon who will preach one thing in public and do the exact opposite in their private lives. They don't care about the working class or anyone else, they only want their votes.
As for Matt Damon, I'm sure he'll feel at home mixing with the great and good of the British 'progressive' elite as it is unlikely he will spend much of his time rubbing shoulders with the class he claims to champion. Judging by the nonsense he spouts, Matt Damon could be a relative of the appalling Redgrave family who were the leading lights of the Workers Revolutionary Party.
This family, led by Vanessa and Corin, were appalling hypocrites of the very highest order, who advocated revolutionary communism but took advantage of the system they despised by giving their own children an exclusive education the same they had enjoyed themselves.
Perhaps he could meet up with Saint Bob Geldof, who campaigns for all and sundry to send their money to Africa or to cancel taxpayer funded third world debt. If Saint Bob had sent his children to state school the money he spent on school fees could have gone to the starving kids in Ethiopia. Surely that money would have been better spent feeding the hungry than on an exclusive education for useless celebrities like Peaches, Pixie or Heavenly Hariana Tiger Lily.
Or perhaps Matt can hook up with the hideous Glenda Jackson, that other socialist idiot from the acting fraternity who despoiled a Parliamentary tribute to the recently deceased Margaret Thatcher with an outpouring of bile.

It would appear that equality and fairness doesn't count when it comes to their own children.

These exclusively educated Labour MP's should be an embarrassment as well as a reality check for anyone, especially working people, who vote for these charlatans or who are considering voting for them in the future. They are actors like Matt Damon who will preach one thing in public and do the exact opposite in their private lives. They don't care about the working class or anyone else, they only want their votes.

Mugabe Steals Zimbabwe Election - Business As Usual For The Aid Industry
The fact that the present disaster in Zimbabwe is of the western worlds making is studiously ignored by current commentators who are trying to distance themselves from their action of putting 'Butcher Bob' Mugabe into power.
According to these commentators, the Prime Minister, Ian Smith, was an out of date colonialist from a bygone age for wanting to maintain living standards in Rhodesia and for wanting to fight the communist insurgency that was ruining the economies of the neighbouring countries.
Ian Smith and the rest of the informed world knew what the result would be of handing over power to the Marxist led liberation movements but then, as is the case today, political ideology took precedence over the well being of the people. Ian Smith's successful leadership led to high literacy rates, record levels of employment, a surplus of agricultural products for export and ' not a single empty belly'.
With the collusion of the western leaders, Rhodesia went on to be fundamentally transformed by its Maoist leader, Robert Mugabe, from the breadbasket of Africa to the basket case of the world, within a decade or so.
The descent into the abyss began when the world's progressive hierarchy at the time, including British socialist Prime Minister, Harold Wilson and the American global troublemaker Henry Kissinger, forced Ian Smith to start the process of handing over power to the black majority who were not prepared or equipped to handle political power.

Unsurprisingly Mugabe and the rest of the revolutionaries continued the war and as history shows us they eventually usurped power to the rejoicing of the west.
In an attempt to disassociate themselves from the consequences of their treachery, these same 'progressives' and their descendants claim that nobody could have predicted Mugabe's behavior prior to his anointing.

And to her eternal shame he was even knighted by the Queen in 1994.

Bill Gates - Obama Supporter Advocates Equality But Takes Care Of His Own
"All animals are equal but some are more equal than others". If ever there was quote that sums up multi billionaire Bill Gates then this is it. George Orwell buffs will recognize the quote from his world famous novel, Animal Farm. The novel is a parody on the Russian revolution whereby animals, led by the pigs, overthrow their human masters, take over the farm and run it under a communist system. Not unlike today's 'progressive' mantra of equality and fairness, everything on the farm is shared and 'all animals are equal' according to the seventh Commandment of Animalism.
Without giving too much of the story away, the pigs take over the running of the farm, become an elite and start behaving in the same manner as the humans they replaced. Equality and fairness no longer apply to the pigs hence the re-writing of the seventh Commandment.
The resemblance of Bill Gates to the pigs in this novel is uncanny. The formation of Microsoft and the rise Bill Gates into a multi-billionaire is chronicled elsewhere, his nasty flip side and his descent into utter hypocrisy is not.
The current history reads like a modern day fairytale where a geeky college dropout forms a company in his parents garage which grows into a multi-billion dollar global company through technical innovation and hard work, making Gates a personal fortune along the way.
In reality Gates was an arrogant, ruthless operator who attempted to crush any competition from companies or individuals that got in the way of Microsoft's domination of the market. The list of lawsuits by governments and individual companies is endless.
Since his retirement from Microsoft, Gates is now nurturing his reputation as a philanthropist and his support for President Obama is meant to demonstrate his commitment to improving the condition of the American people as well as curing disease in Africa.
The fact that Obama is an unreconstructed radical socialist is now beyond dispute so by lending his support it can be assumed that Gates has adopted Obama's agenda to 'fundamentally transform' America from the free enterprise, limited government system, that allowed him to accumulate his billions, into a socialist state.
Bill Gates doesn't do anything unless there is something in it for himself so his conversion to socialism is suspect. Having made and stashed away his fortune, Gates now advocates higher taxes in order for the government to spend more on entitlements, he is even urging Obama to embrace a global taxation.
Charity giving in the USA is tax deductible so it would be tax efficient for Gates to give as much to charity as possible.
Gates is already being sanctified for his project to cure polio and other diseases in Africa but there is something in it for Bill there too. The big pharmaceutical multi-nationals are up to their necks in dodgy deals in Africa and not all Africans are convinced that Gates is not up to his neck also. His $10 billion donation to vaccine development is now being considered a scam. His polio vaccines, of which he is so proud, has reputedly resulted in the deaths and injury of tens of thousands of African children.
Bill Gates support for Obama's equality and fairness agenda exposes his hypocrisy for all the world to see. President Obama and his radical government firmly believe in equality of opportunity for all of America's children and so should Bill, but when it comes to his own daughter his ideals go out of the window in typical socialist fashion.
Gates obviously doesn't think it goes against his Presidents' agenda of equality and fairness when he buys his daughter a $8.7 million mansion to boost her showjumping career. The level playing field for sporting competitors obviously doesn't apply in the Bill Gates socialist Utopia.
It would be interesting to know whether Gates has paid the applicable gift tax on this mansion or as he found a way around it thus depriving the Obama Treasury of much needed revenue. It would also be interesting to know if the Bill Gates billions will be subject to Estate/Death taxes, currently running at forty percent or has he made a Kennedy arrangement whereby Joe Kennedy's fortune is still intact after all these years, keeping his clan in comfort to this day.
Bill Gates should have remembered from the last Presidential campaign that tax efficiency is unpatriotic and frowned upon by the Obama administration, or maybe that is only applicable when Presidential rival Mitt Romney does it.

Illegal Immigrant Spot Checks, Racial Profiling And The Human Rights Industry
News that the United Kingdom Border Agency have stepped up the hunt for illegal immigrants by using spot checks raised the blood pressure of those who make a living on the publicly funded human rights gravy train and it also sent the politically correct thought police of the grievance and self loathing communities into fits of apoplexy.
It is obviously beyond the comprehension of these people that securing the borders and dealing with illegal immigration is the whole point of a border agency. Due to the deliberate scrapping of border controls by the previous Labour government, immigration, and particularly, illegal immigration, is now one of the major issues concerning the British people. Not only are their lives being blighted by crime and disorder, their public services and the economy at large are being adversely affected by this massive influx of economic migrants and criminal gangs.
The self loathing community in addition to the human rights and grievance industries cannot be over endowed with political savvy if they haven't realized by now that these spot checks are window dressing designed to give the impression that the government is acting on the people's concerns ahead of the European elections due in 2014.
Do these people really think that a few border control officers checking random people at a handful of railway stations is going to deal with an estimated one million illegal immigrants? It makes great headlines and it gives the hideously biased BBC plenty of ammunition but it is not going to make the smallest dent in the problem of illegal immigrants.
Myself and other informed punters do not agree with government spot checks because the political class will not miss an opportunity to extend this authoritarian practice to all citizens in the future. They have already tried ID cards, universal DNA databases and car number plate recognition in an attempt to monitor and control its citizens. They are currently busy attempting to control the press and the Internet together with snooping on private emails and phone calls.
Resorting to spot checks is an admission of failure; illegals immigrants should be stopped at the border.
But I digress; it's not the spot checks that send these various 'progressive' industries rushing to the BBC and the media but the thought of racial profiling. To these over sensitive souls, racial profiling is one of the biggest crimes that can possibly be committed against their imagined egalitarian, fair and equal, politically correct Utopia.
To rest of us in the real world it's just plain common sense. Black people can be excluded if the police are searching for a white bank robber, dwarfs can be excluded if the robber is over five feet tall, women can be excluded if it's a man. Stopping a black female dwarf would be deemed 'the right thing to do' in the insane tick box world of politically correct tokenism.

The sad fact is that the public sector together with all the British institutions from the police and the BBC down to the smallest Parish councils, are infested with these self righteous, self appointed guardians of the 'progressive', politically correct, multi-cultural agenda who have been enabled by legislation.
Two of the most destructive pieces of legislation put in place by the Blair/Brown government that have done more to destroy Great Britain than any other are the unnecessary Human Rights Act and the unwanted Equalities Act.
To enforce these two agenda driven laws, the government set up the Orwellian Equalities and Human Rights Commission and then proceeded to stuff it with like minded agenda driven bureaucrats who were committed to the cultural replacement project. This bureaucracy is unwanted by the British people and has been a disaster from its inception. It has acquired a reputation for lunacy and it is now being seen for what it actually is.
The Equality and Human Rights Commission is a vehicle used by the politician class to impose their 'progressive' multi-cultural agenda onto the British people who didn't ask for it and don't want it.
Calls for it to be scrapped should be heeded but, as they made abundantly clear, Prime Minister David Cameron and his bag carrier Nick Clegg have no intention of doing so regardless of what the people think.
A fair days work for a fair days pay was the most common mantra for my generation, there was no need and certainly no demand for human rights or equality legislation. These were the brainchild of the remote metropolitan elite who were bent on imposing their vision of a fair and equal, multi-cultural society onto the people whether they wanted it or not.

"Our society is badly in need of an objective and measured assessment of human rights and equality issues especially as we see the crushing of religious freedom when views are held not to be in keeping with politically correct diktats".
It is obviously beyond the comprehension of these people that securing the borders and dealing with illegal immigration is the whole point of a border agency. Due to the deliberate scrapping of border controls by the previous Labour government, immigration, and particularly, illegal immigration, is now one of the major issues concerning the British people. Not only are their lives being blighted by crime and disorder, their public services and the economy at large are being adversely affected by this massive influx of economic migrants and criminal gangs.
The self loathing community in addition to the human rights and grievance industries cannot be over endowed with political savvy if they haven't realized by now that these spot checks are window dressing designed to give the impression that the government is acting on the people's concerns ahead of the European elections due in 2014.
Do these people really think that a few border control officers checking random people at a handful of railway stations is going to deal with an estimated one million illegal immigrants? Myself and other informed punters do not agree with government spot checks because the political class will not miss an opportunity to extend this authoritarian practice to all citizens in the future. They have already tried ID cards, universal DNA databases and car number plate recognition in an attempt to monitor and control its citizens. They are currently busy attempting to control the press and the Internet together with snooping on private emails and phone calls.
Resorting to spot checks is an admission of failure; illegals immigrants should be stopped at the border.

Unelected EU Baroness Preaches Democracy In Egypt But Punishes Democratic Israel
No thinking person will be surprised by double standards and hypocrisy when it comes to the European Union. This whole institution was built on the basis of 'government in the post democratic age' using the Soviet Union model as a template.
It is stuffed to the rafters with a mix of professional career politicians, failed legislators, unqualified cronies, hangers on and communist apparatchiks left over from the former East European dictatorships.
This whole place is run by back scratching, patronage and back room stitch ups, which allows failed politicians from the member states to take lucrative non jobs for long enough to fill their pockets with taxpayers money and qualify for a gold plated pension for life.
The latest episode of gross hypocrisy is the visit of the grandly titled High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security, the Baroness Ashton, to the Middle East to put Egypt firmly 'on a path to democracy'. She met with the various Egyptian political parties including the Muslim Brotherhood who are advocates of totalitarian Sharia law.
One would have thought that the European Union is the last institution that should be preaching democracy but using Baroness Ashton as its leading preacher is beyond parody.
A brief look at Ashton's Curriculum Vitae reveals that she doesn't have a democratic bone in her body. My generation remember Ashton as one of leaders of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND), a group led by a gaggle of naive professional left wing agitators and clerics who advocated unilateral nuclear disarmament during the cold war period of Soviet aggression.
It is certain that the CND had been infiltrated by the Soviets and Ashton refuses to acknowledge Soviet financing of her organization to this day. Her political career started in earnest when she was appointed to the upper chamber of the British legislature, the House of Lords, by Tony Blair. Although totally unqualified, her rise through the ranks took off like a rocket when she was:
Appointed Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department of Education and Skills.
Appointed Minister for Sure Start
Appointed Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Constitutional Affairs (in preparation for pushing the EU constitution through Parliament without a referendum)

One doesn't have to be a student of politics to note that Ashton acquired vast amounts of political and legislative power over the British people without a single vote being cast. She has never offered herself for election over her entire career and what makes this situation even more undemocratic is the fact that she is appointed for life therefore she cannot be removed by the British people regardless of her performance.
This is the person chosen by the Leaders of the European Union to preach democracy to the various blood soaked dictators of Egypt and the Middle East. These EU leaders don't stand up to scrutiny either considering the amount of power they wield over the peoples of Europe.
President of the European Council, which is accepted to be the Executive branch of the EU, is sinister Belgian totalitarian Herman von Rumpuy who was appointed without consultation with the people or Parliament.
President of the EU Commission, which is accepted to be the legislative branch, is Portuguese Maoist Jose Manuel Barrosso who, like von Rumpuy, was appointed without consultation. The Vice President of the Commission just happens to be the Baroness Ashton.
President of the European Parliament is the German socialist thug Martin Shultz. This appalling man, who can barely disguise his hatred of Great Britain, was appointed after a closed door stitch up between cronies and hangers on.
Any sane person is bound to question how an organization like this, stuffed with people like the anti-democracy Baroness Ashton, can be taken seriously when they start preaching democracy abroad.
Hatred of Israel is mandatory for a hard left 'progressive' zealot like Baroness Ashton and she demonstrates this, together with her hypocrisy, by declaring a cultural war against the only multi-party democracy in the Middle East, Israel.
While she is indulging the Muslim Brotherhood's deposed dictator Mohamed Morsi, who describes Jews as the 'decendents of apes and pigs', she is applying sanctions on Israeli academics and businesses alike. These sanctions are likely to hurt Arabs as well as the Israelis that she hates so much.
This fact won't bother Ashton as demonstrating her anti-Israel credentials is more important than hurting the very Arabs she is supposed to be helping.
This double standard is nothing new for the long suffering people of Europe. Prior to Baroness Ashton they had to suffer the hopelessly under qualified, multi-millionaire socialist, the Baroness Kinnock. This venal pseudo intellectual has made a multi million pound fortune despite never having had a real job outside of politics. The taxpayers pockets are deep and always open for the politicians to plunder.
Another hard left 'progressive' in the Ashton mould, Glennys Kinnock demonstrated her idiocy by lecturing President Obama on how his government's subsidies to cotton farmers was making it difficult for their counterparts in the developing world to compete; all the while she was the Commissioner of an organization that provides the biggest subsidies to farmers in the history of agriculture, including its own cotton farmers! The EU's Common Agricultural Policy has ruined the entire agricultural sectors of developing countries since its inception decades ago.
The world will wait with baited breath to see if the efforts of the appointed, undemocratic Baroness Ashton will succeed in teaching Middle Eastern tyrants the virtues of democracy but maybe she should listen to her own lectures and democratize herself and the organization she represents first.
